Following orders from SSP Rajkiran Bedi, the police tortured Bibi Resham Kaur’s 8 month old baby son, Simranjeet Singh to death by putting the naked child upon an ice block in front of his mother to draw out the whereabouts of her husband.

The woman did not know the whereabouts of her husband thus could not give the information to the police that they required, her son subsequently died and she was murdered also.

Both mother and son we martyred, by SSP Rajkiran Bedi, both were victims of his rein of terror.

We can draw comparisons with the martyrdom of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur's son, where his son’s beating heart was forcefully put in his mouth and his son was killed in front of him.
