Bhai Nirmal Singh "Nima" was born in village Meeyavind
Javandpur,
District Amritsar, in the house of mother Surjit Kaur and father Mehar
Singh. Bhai Nirmal Singh was the beloved brother of 5 brothers and 4
sisters.
He enrolled into a sports college for his graduation, and excelled in
sports and his favourite sport was hockey. When he first set foot into
jawani (adulthood), the Dharam Yudh Morcha was at
its peak. Like every humble Sikh, he too couldn’t survive the mental
tension of Operation Bluestar. Although he was married, and was the
father of 2 sons, he let go of his own and family peace and started
walking down the path, which led to Sikh rights, the path of truth.
Everyone knew of the consequences of walking down this path. On this
path of war, Bhai Kanvarjeet Singh joined the same path. These two
youths contributed highly in keeping brave jathebandis together. On 18
August, in Jalandhar where these two were living in a secret place, they
were suddenly caught by the police. He was shot and martyred near
Narinder Cinema. In this way, by putting lots for the war, this brave
Singh sacrificed his life for his nation. |
